政五郎（仲代达矢 饰）是臭名昭著的流氓，他中年得一女取名花子，对其格外的宠爱。政五郎专横跋扈的作风令他在外树立了许多仇家，随着花子一天天长大，危险也无时不刻的在靠近着她，为了保护花子，政五郎愿意付出一切代价。
