此前有猜测称这个第一位扮演神秘博士的女演员下季将不会回归，换人接替。而惠特克对THR表示：“我迫不及待要回去再次开工啦，这是个很棒的角色，迄今为止也都是很棒的旅程，我还未准备好交棒。”
第11季完结在即，也将有新年特别集，第12季预计明年早期开拍。。
