2018年，导演山户结希策划了一个电影项目，也即是将来自多位同龄女性导演的作品集结起来，形成一部以自我意识和性为主题的完整集合。各位导演需要提供一部短片，之后这些短片反映的主题会被集结成一部混搭风格的电影，其主要目的是为了证明21世纪的女性是大胆、多元、富有创造力的，而且她们不会刻意回避这一点。 制作完成时，《21世纪女子》由14部电影短片和结尾处的一部动画短片组成，这些短片均由80后或90后年轻女导演创作。这部影片大胆探索了关于人际关系、自我意识、性、爱、欲望等敏感话题，充分表现了幕后创作者们的大胆创新精神。。Will & Grace are best friends.
