很久以前，一位将军夫人生性凶残，经常虐待两名侍女。由于侍女都过着非人生活，因此相继在屋内投井自尽。自此之后，她们的亡灵每晚便在那口井附近，徘徊不去。随着大屋的荒废，幽灵的谣传渐为人所淡忘。怎料多年后，一位富翁买入并翻新废屋后，雇用了一名叫阿菊的女子，为他料理家务。一日，阿菊打破了十件家传之宝的其中一件，因而受到富翁的严苛指责及虐待。阿菊含冤之下，便投进那口鬼井，了结生命。自此，那口井便咽下了阿菊...。This apocalyptic parable carries within it a clear echo of the 1968 invasion of Czechoslovakia.
