底层社畜大龄青年陈小魁因没钱饱受冷眼，事业爱情遭遇连番危机，突逢老家拆迁，一夜暴富在即，陈小魁却在醉酒后把领拆迁款最关键的地契烧给了亡父，他不得不前往地府寻找父亲，试图寻回地契，由此开启了一段奇异惊险又笑料频出的大冒险。。落难的李奇在穷途末路时遇到了小学同学谢源，谢源误以为李奇轻生要跳海而出手相救，李奇便自此留在了谢源家中。刚好的邻居冯仁昆介绍他们到片场当临时演员，也认识了当红的影星邵芳芳、程宝珠，四人更从欢喜冤家变成了恩爱无比的恋人，一起面临了不少人生关卡……。Disarmingly realistic in its depiction of the realities of frontier life, Heartland is a strong antidote to the cliches of traditional Westerns. This semi-documentary slice of life is based on the diaries of Elmore Randall Stewart about her days on the Wyoming frontier in the early 20th century. It's a strongly feminist statement about a woman raising her small daughter alone and scrapping for a living by working for a shy Scottish rancher. Director Richard Pearce brings an endearing touch to a film that is helped greatly by the dazzling cinematography of Fred Murphy. Conchata Ferrell and Rip Torn star in this small film that substitutes veracity for a high-powered plot. Pearce worked as a cinematographer on Woodstock and other documentaries before making his directorial debut. Winner of the 1980 Berlin Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival。
