2035年，中国的人工智能“芯机人”已经进入千家万户，成为人们生活中不可替代的好帮手。江市，乔家买了一个服务型“芯机人”，并为她取名安怡。不久以后，他们发现“安怡”举止非常奇怪，更像人类而不是“芯机人”。
与此同时，李遥正在城市里寻找着姐姐“姜离”的下落。原来，李遥的父亲已经发明出拥有人类情感的“芯机人”，用来陪伴李遥。因为意外，“姜离”被偷走后变成了“安怡”。而这样拥有情感的“芯机人”并不止有“姜离”一个。
